Help me stream! I'm pulling my hair out!!!
Help Me Set Up WinAmp So I Can Stream!
I am trying to stream to a registered domain name that contains my Shoutcast Server for 100 listeners. I keep telling the guy at the website that I need the IP address, Port, and password for the Shoutcast DNAS software to work. He says I should be using WinAmp to stream. I am using WinAmp, but also the DNAS software. Is there a way to stream to the domain name without the IP address through WinAmp? For example, I have http://domainname.info:port as the destination for my stream. The web guy SWEARS I should be able to stream here from WinAmp. I think he's on crack. After dealing with this all afternoon, I need some crack too! Any streaming advise will be helpful, and will keep me off drugs... |

First you want to insure the config file entries for DestIP and SrcIP are both left at the default "ANY". Beyond that so long as the domain is resolving to a working IP address on that machine it should work fine unless a firewall or something it blocking the needed ports.
However you do NOT want http:// in the entry for ip/domain. Only use the name - such as name.mydomain.com, not http://name.mydomain.com 1001. FM - Megarock Radio - St. Louis Since 1998! Tune In Now! Corporate Radio Sucks! No suits, all rock! |
