SetNine Shoutcast Hosting

Hi, i was just wondering if anybody uses SetNine SHOUTcast hosting? i have recently ordered a server from them as they say on their page that they offer instant access and it will be up and running within a few minutes of purchase. This was around 13.5 hours ago and i still only have my order confirmation.

I suppose what i really want to know, is this a real company or has anybody else also had problems?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Kind Regards
Mike Harris

instead of ordering you better ask for a trial next time.

let them prove to you they are everything they say.

don't rush into things just because a streamhost tells you so.

There is http://fast-serv.com/web/ that I have been looking into for NSV server. I'm not really sure if they are reliable but they do offer a trail. I've been waiting for an e-mail from them answering some of my questions is the only reason I have not signed up yet.

That sounds like a good idea, i have a habit of rushing into things!! LOL

Luckily though they have given me my server logon so all is good. Overall i am quite impressed with their service so far. One complaint i do have though is the x fading. As i am broadcasting purley dance music the beats get very mixed up at the beginning and end of each tune.

Thanks for the replies anyway.

Regards
Mike

The Cross fading is a problem on your side..not theirs..you control all of that from your comp...all they do is host whatever ya stream.

What streaming program are ya using?

Sincerely,

Have you heard back? You might try contacting Randy direct -- mcanally@fast-serv.com

I've been using them for over a year now -- Shoutcast, Windows Media, and Web hosting. Great service / value.

Actually FS price would be $5.00 USD, not $10.00. Free trials (instantly activated) are possible and I highly recommend doing so before ordering ANY service.

And part of the price I pay is peace of mind after having tried and retired many "unbelievably cheap" hosts within the past 12 months. Also the ability to configure / reboot your own server and get quick support when needed is something you don't find everywhere.

Actually bandwidth is way more expensive in the UK. Any company selling streams on a _large scale_ at that price will go under quickly. Especially in the UK.

this thread has gone off topic. Thread starter has been satisfied I see no reason to continue a debate on other stream providers.
