ip & port for DNS server???
well im trying to setup a shoutcast server to stream music to my friends all from the computer at my house. I have bellsouth extreme DSL which is a 3 megabit downstream and like 386k upstream or something like that..im not really good at doing all this technical stuff so bear with me.
while i was trying to configure the DSP plugin it said "Click on the Connection button to bring up the settings for the SHOUTcast DNAS you will be connecting to. Enter the IP address under Address, Port number, broadcasting password set on the server" in the directions. What IP, port, broadcasting password, do i ENTER?!?!?!?! like i downloaded the shoutcast DNAS server thing and i still am pretty lost...like i dont really understand what to do. I read all the readme's directions on the shoutcast site and everything about 10 times over but its just REALLY confusing to me. Also i have a router...will i have to forward the port in order to do this?!?!? please help ![]() [Edit --> Nunzio390] Posted in wrong forum. Moved from Winamp Tech Support to SHOUTcast Tech Support. IP = localhost
password = the password you've defined on the DNAS config file, 'changeme' by default. port = the port base defined on the config file, 8000 by default. And yes, you have to forward on your router configuration port base and port base +1 to the PC where the DNAS server is installed.
