Achieving good Voice quality: microphone, sound card, compressor/limiter, preamp, etc
I will be broadcasting a show at 24 Kbps bit rate. It will mostly be myself talking live.
What do I need to achieve good voice quality? I found this topic on this forum with some information, but it is from 2 years ago. I am hoping I can do all this for less than $200. Can anyone give me advice on the right microphone, sound card, compressor/limiter, preamp or whatever I need? Thanks a lot.

When broadcasting at 24Kbps your choice of equipment is largly irrelevent, you can't polish a turd. Use any mike and sound card just make sure you broadcast in 22Khz mono, if it's just voice then the quality will be acceptable.

May I suggest one 5 band compressor/limiter : Octimax (less than $50.00) or a free one, the famous Tomass limiter or Sound Solution
