everything is too subjective!

Anyone if they are smart enough can make almost anything support their ideas or views. Depending on what you take from something or what time in history you are looking at any idea if it is shitty or not can be 'proven' to be fact. I am getting tired of people just taking what they want out of things and leaving the rest if it does not support their view of things.

The media (all of it from movies and news to books and magazines) has this down to a science and depending on who they need to favor they spin things around to support them. Even statistics can be used to support anything if you just 'explain' it right to make your point. I don't even watch the news anymore because it has been so twisted that I know I am not getting the whole truth. I have to seek out the truth on the internet because I only get what they want me the know.

Why can't the media just report everything and let the public decide how to spin the information given.

Most people are sheep and cannot think on their own so the media can shape our cultures any way that they want to. I recomend to everyone a book called "the media monopoly" for more on this subject because like everything people are going to believe what they want to out of this post and leave the rest.

I am sick and tired of the media being geared toward consumption. The more you watch the more you consume. Life is not about what we can buy. Life is about things that cannot be purchased, traded or sold. Life is about family, love, friends and emotion. He who dies with the most toys does not win, life is not a contest. The more people that understand this the better off the world will be.

If this sparks thought in just one person I will be thrilled and if it doesn't then love, peace, my hair is full of grease

If I shower I wash away my 'essence'. Just kidding! I only mean that my hair is full of grease because deep down I am a love everyone type of hippie even though I shave every day and sell 'fraccional ownership' in nice clothes and have short hair.

Mark what down and where?

I am glad that you agree with me it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside...now where did I put that sock?

What makes you think we will fight again, my opinion of you is growing and growing (something else might be too).

I want the warmth outside to match the inside

As far a details honestly I still have never had 'cybersex' so I would have to make something up. I do have a vivid imagination though and could give you something to picture if you still want me to.

I have marked it down and I do know how women are so even though I have it marked you may still deny ever agreeing with me.

And forgive me for not being up to date on acronyms but what is LMAO? It has to be Laugh....something but I can't seem to decode it.

But pictures are better!

Are you mocking my post by being subjective? Denial and conveniently forgeting are the same thing.

And thanks for explaining the acronym.

No worries being a smart ass is more fun isn't it (and I didn't know that one either, maybe you made it up but I wouldn't know).

We should hijack more 'heated' threads in the future because you are right no one is complaining. Maybe that is because no matter what you believe sex makes the world go 'round.

Why because they are not interupted by sex fiends or because (in your opinion) they are not subjective?

I think he is saying that one is far left and the other is far right that between the two, he forms his own
opinion.

If thats the case, its a very smart thing to do.

We are the only sex fiends interrupting important political discussions...hahaha.

There is one thing I would like to caution you about...

There are a lot of so called experts posting on the internet that have no credentials at all spouting bullshit for the sake of doing it.
There are also a lot of individuals posting on the internet that have credentials that also have some political agenda they are trying to promote.

In both cases, the information you get is questionable at best, and outright lies at worst.

IMHO, I feel the best way to be informed is to listen to as much news on TV and radio as possible and to supplement that with information from various news web sites. Also, I stay away from BLOGs.

edit: BTW: Get a room!

I don't take ANYTHING at face value. In my experience almost everyone has an agenda that may not be imediately apparent. I really have a hard time believing anything these days. Do you not feel that the information provided in the news is questionable also? Thanks for the concern and I never go near blogs they are evil.

And blaze I don't think cnn is very left but the concept of taking a little from both sides is very smart. Kiss, kiss. If there were more sex fiends interrupting then maybe the world would be a better place.

nope, Fox News isn't biased at all

This thread is great because an essay for one of my college applications has to do with this topic of the media inflencing public opinion and i was having trouble organizing my thoughts. I couldn't put into words exactly what I felt. Thank you.
