Remote controlling is based on the server. Talk to the host and find a solution that way.

As for editing playlists and stuff, you can use KXRM's sc_nsv and just add a #reload to the playlist and that way, you can just FTP up new videos and overwrite the playlist and it'll adjust after it gets to the #reload line. This is assuming the server is linux. If its not, then remote access is probably needed to adjust the windows programs.

Windows is controlled by mstsc.exe. It will pop a screen from a remote server on your desktop. It is available from Microcrud for OS's back to 95.

If you are using a linux box, use some SSH client, PUTTY works pretty good and sc_nsv, by KXRM is the best shouter for NSV.

NSV just runs from the command line.

Yeppers, it's back to the books for you my friend. "The Unix Programming Environment" by Kerrigan is the traditional bible for this stuff. It's $10 or so used. There probably are better books, but this one has stood the test of time.

The Unix "shell" is not like Windows. It does most of what windows command line does, but is way more powerful.

Get some books, expect some paper cuts.

what do you recommend for me to encode to nsv?? since nc_nsc doesn't encode. Should I just use Kens GUI to encode??

It will only run on Windows. It's in the DNAS distribution for windows on the nullsoft site.

You will find it in the nsv tools distribution you likely already have.

that's not nearly enough detail, are you running this on FreeBSD? Just a quick google search tells me that likely you haven't got linux emulation enabled in your FreeBSD system.
