Video Question

We have to make a commerical for a mock election campaign in our government class. We're going to try and do a "Real men of genius" song from the bud lite commercials. We want to record the song and then take some still images and just put the song over it, because none of us has a video camera. I have two questions. . .

1. Does anyone know how I can get the real men of genius song music? I couldn't find an instrumental version anywhere.
2. I've never done much video editing. How can I accopmlish putting it together? A specific program or even any general info would be helpful.

just get the audio and use a power point, unless you have to put it on VHS.

but how can i turn a powerpoint slideshow into an avi or mpg file?

Because we have to make a commercial that they'll play over the school TV system.

well, then don't worry about Pp at all.

You'll have to do video editing.
I did video editing in my school's Mac lab, don't remember what prog we used though.

Adobe Premier is the best video tool to use. You might be able to arrange with your school to buy a license for it.

Final Cut Pro is also quite excellent, if you're on a mac.

we recorded the song today, using garbage cans as drums through a computer microphone. Yikes!

Yes, I know it's made by Microsoft, but it's free and gets the job done. As for putting your pc-made movie on VHS, try looking here.

I have come to the conclusion that converting a powerpoint file to any video format is impossible.

download the flash trial version, you can use it for 30 days or something

run through the tutorials that come with it, they're actually helpful and you can learn how to use it quite quickly.
