I have brought loads of music of iTunes, i want to let the world hear it, but i need a plugin / programe that will either be able to stream my iTunes music. Is there anything that can play protected mp4s? Are there any other programes that can play them? Please help

you could try burning them to disk and then ripping them to some open format.

Hmmmmm...
There IS a down & dirty way to do it.... Assuming, that the i-tunes player doesn't prohibit the playing computer direct access to the soundcard input.. you can set up your system to play the music as an re-encoded MP3 (well, I can..) This is done by re-routeing the soundcard's output back into the input and using the shoutcast DSP as a re-encoder.. it will work, however, the "crossover" will be in the "alalog realm" and thus you'll lose direct-stream titleing... Its also important that you set the soundcard up properly, or your listeners will also hear hiss, buzzing, crackles, etc.. but if you do it right it will yield excellent results. DjZ

You don't know how to open your windows volume controls, seclect "what-U-hear" and then start the Winamp & DSP and DNAS server and then open i-tunes player and begining playing music?

shoot man, rip the burned audio cds back into iTunes as unprotected MP3's. Pluck them out of the directory(ies) that iTunes puts them in and have your way with them!
back in the day there was a windows program called mpeg suite or mp3 suite that could encode audio tracks to MP3 as well. Dunno if it is still around. |

Agreed. With iTunes, you can set the preferences for importing to MP3. Burn your songs to a CD. Use iTunes to re-import. There is loss - but it is minimal.

first i would try the m4p plugin for winamp (its floating around on the winamp forum someplace
)i recomend against using itunes to rip to mp3, audio tests have shown the itunes mp3 encoder to be somewhat lacking in comparison to LAME. If you must use itunes to rip, then encode in aac, itunes supposedly has the best aac encoder. |
