question about licenses

do i need a license to play music that iv downloaded or any of the cd's i have if i do need one where do i get it from and how much would that cost me?

you are playing copyrighted music, even if you have it on a cd you got at the cd store.
there are laws about it and you should see into this issue.

if you stream music without paying you are breaking the law.

you could use the forum search function or wait untill somebody like Megarock steps in , he sure knows about it.

Xtreme, its gonna hit around $1,500 per licensor, per 6 months or more.

You have to deal with:
ASCAP
BMI
SE
SESAC

and maybe even some more that i haven't heard of. I deal with ASCAP, BMI and SE and pay $9,000 every year to these people... now SESAC wants to charge me, when i don't air their artists ><

they just research the URL, if its not in their licensing list, they notify you.. Supposably i heard they send a quarter million of these notices out, which is bull...
