Bandwidth Used

My school has a radio station that wants to be streamed online. The school has half of a t1, and if we want to stream using a stream host at 32 kb, will it affect the speed of the network? (There are many students online through the day)

Because you are talking a school network, unless you have QoS enabled equipment to ensure the stream can get out to the host at a higher priority, then it will not work, the stream will constantly cut out because of the bandwidth use.

a half of T1 isn't that much..

now, if you were feeding an external server/service, then you have a chance... but, like Killer said, to have the listeners connect directly to the school network is not only, a bad idea.. but its very insecure too!
