Cynthia Basinet has had the dubious distinction of being mistaken for Marilyn Monroe. The breathy screen legend never recorded "Santa Baby" and in fact, the highly popular version was recorded by the sexy redheaded actress and recording artist, Cynthia Basinet (aka "c. basinet").

Cool and tasty tidbit

I don't know though, I think some of the very young music listeners have only heard Madonna's or Britney's version of the song, and wouldn't even have a clue who Marylin is let alone Cynthia Basinet.

Still for those of us old enough to be familliar with her version(I think Eartha Kitt recorded it as well), this is very cool.
