MT@gmail?

I just got my copy of the January 2005 issue of Motor Trend magazine, and in the Mail section, I saw a little section called Readers On Location that shows a couple pictures of MT readers that sent in pictures of themselves reading the magazine. In this section, the editors state that you can email pictures of yourself reading MT to motortrend@gmail.com... I thought that was kinda funny, so I figured I'd share it.

It begs the question, though. Why not an @motortrend.com or similar address?

Bragging rights? I have three gmail accounts, and could have as many more as 18 right now if I chose to. :P But maybe you're right. Maybe one of the editors did it just to say to a friend "Ha! I told you I could get my gmail account into the magazine!"

gmail is cool. why not brag about having an account? Most people don't have one, and even if they're very aware of what gmail they don't have a clue about how to get one, so we're something like the elite of the computer users, don't you think?

Yes, becouse we know how to get them. That means we know stuff, at least more than an average MS office user who maybe chats with msn messenger.

You dont need to know anything, someone just needs to send you an invite.
1. you need to know people who got gmail-accounts. this doesn't sound special, but a guy who isn't a member on any disussion forum , has non-computerized people as friends and has learned computers at work and by some mid-level magazine just don't have the right contacts

2. you need to know people who know how to send invites (a lot of my friends came to me after getting gmails asking where the fuck those invites are. I thought WTF and finally understood that they didn't see the notifier in the mailbox window. They thought their invites would be mailed to them or something.)

3. some people who use mail mainly at work aren't allowed to use personal webmails or are enslaved by old tech as the good old but not-very-suitable-for-2004 Netscape 4 browser. Many people still get their only impression of the web from old, crappy software/hardware.

Lots of people on this forum are beta-testers, firefox experts etc., some of us have our own dedicated Linux-servers. Some of us know how to build a computer. Some of us are the elite. period.

When I got my gmail account I was wondering where those invites were too, I didn't get any invites until a couple of weeks later.

It is for 30 days on my computer (there might be a trial version available at their website also). Haven't bothered to try it out since good ol' Photoshop 6 still gets things done.

This is a sig of some nature.

I believe there is a trial version of PSP available through Jasc's website as Scyth suggested, but I can't be positive. I bought PSP7 in retial form from the store, so I never bothered with the trial period or anything. I got used to PSP7 and I must say, I quite like it. Shortly after PSP8 came out, I upgraded to that version, and I love it.

I've never really used Photoshop much, so I can't comment on that...

PSP is much lighter than PS, and I'm no expert on image editing, so if i had a bad computer i would probarly be using PSP.

I've had PS7 so far, been to lazy to upgrade to CS so far . A friend promised to let me borrow a copy of CS in a few days though...
