Best spyware freeware or pay

what would you recommend as the best spyware freeware or pay program

I'm guessing you mean anti-spyware.

HijackThis, Spybot, Adaware and InstallSpy are my choices.

Install spy isnt really anti-spyware software. It has no removal tools and doesnt do scans, but it does let you know of any changes that are made when you install a program, which can be just as useful.

HijackThis. Haven't found too many things that get past it. You've gotta be pretty computer savvy to not screw up your compy though, so use it with caution.

IE Spyad, if you're stuck using IE this will prevent many from occuring in the first place. Another good one is Spyware Blaster because it blocks malacious ActiveX controls. Unless you know what you're doing, don't analyze a HjT log yourself.
