Why? Things like that happen all the time and they are reported in our papers. How many hours a day do you spend reading the local papers in the US, so you know what is or is not published?
Maybe you only read the 'National' paper: USA Today, which, by the way, doesn't have local news in it. (It is a fucking joke, I really hope that is not where you get your news.) Or maybe you read a paper from one city so you don't see the local news for other cities.
My point is this: the US is a real big area to cover in one newspaper or one news broadcast. It would most likely take you all of your waking hours to read all of the news generated in the WHOLE United States even if you had someone discarding the duplicate stories.
How can you say that stories don't get published? Are you privy to some inside info that I am not?
Sorry for going on a rant, but sometimes I get tired of hearing a line of shit about Americans not being informed. Sounds like others are just as mis-informed about us.
