get a really old version of shoutcast ? ( i do not recommend it)

There is a way to do it without downgrading, I think it involves working with some files.

i will add ( rather than edit ), you can do it with the current version of shoutcast i believe, but only when it is in on demand mode, ie. not a live stream from a source.

ie. all your MP3s are in the content dir etc.

I believe you need

AuthFile
AuthRealm

added to your shoutcast config.

The

AuthFile statement should be the filename containing usernames/passwords

Search on here for more info, I believe it only works with SHoutcast 1.9.2 though, and does not work with live streaming, only with on demand configurations.

hexediting will work, but beyond that its all up to you. its NOT supported by nullsoft, shoutcast, or me.
