playing movies
hi im new to this so here is a simple but probably stupid question.is it possible to play movies on cds or do i have to put them on dvds?

It depends on where you got the movie from. I guess you downloaded it, so you have to see if the file size will fit on a regular CD. If yes, you can play it from there on your Computer, but I doubt that your regular DVD played will be able to do so.

It also depends on where you want to play it:
If it's a regular video file that fits on a CD (and your drive is fast enough) you can put it on there and play it on your computer directly from the CD. For a Video CD that can be played in any DVD player the video has to be MPEG1 in 352*288 (NTSC:320*240) resolution, other formats burned to a standard CD-ROM only work in some players (eg. DivX compatible ones). Fuck this place. |
