I think this is against the rules here. Beware of the complainers.

I personally don't mind, but I've seen people get jumped on for offering unsolicited VO production.

i don't care if you offer something for free. It's promoting your pay service. Therefore it is against the rules.

Why is it so difficult for people to figure out you can advertise pretty much anything by using the tried and true method:
1. Use your signature line. 2. Participate in the forums. Granted you have to abide by the signature size rules but outside of that you can and people do advertise pretty much everything there. But to make it work you have to participate in the forums as well and that seems to be something most who advertise things aren't willing to do. 1001. FM - Megarock Radio - St. Louis Since 1998! I dont have a pay service, therefore I was not advertising. I was "PSA-ing". I dont charge for my production.

well as a suggestion next time wait for someone to ask for some help with voice over work. Making a thread in the way you did looks like promotion and confuses the regulars. I certainly do not want the people who do charge for voice over work to see this as a green light to start spamming the forum.

How does advertising for **Free Spam production for first 5 ppl to e-mail *spam removed** what CraigGear said turn into voice overs. If that is what you were offerening first what you did is misleading. Not shure if that is against the rules but if it is you should be banned. 2nd this area is about on-line radio what the HELL does it have to do with fighting spam???? If you do voice overs just come out and tell people that you do voice overs. Look people.... everyone can not stand liers or people that mislead.
Thats my 2cents. |

Isnt it enough to remove the offending text and just add a simple but firm comment about the SPAM policy on the forum. That would be the adult/professional way to deal with the issue.

if they do this they know that it is against forum rules to advertise things. Most of the members that advertise are to lazy to read those rules. KXRM and Germ slightly adjust the posts to make them realise they broke forum rules. (all in good fun) if this bothers you so much I guess it's time for to move on to more serious forums. You've got nothing to lose when it's free.

Well, all you did by changing the topic of my post is to promote my free service even more. This thread would not have got this much attention if KXRM had not made it an "example". But hey, no problem with me. lol.
