after doing a bit more searching it seems the fix the other person found was a hotkeys plugin. problem is that the only link that i can find ends in a page that talks about the page changeing host. no dates given or aything of that sort. does anyone have a mirror of that plugin somewhere?

What link? What page? What plugin?

Did you try everything suggested here?
Did you try RM-X?

here si the thread that after some rereading indicated that the hotkeys plugin from http://linas.info or something like that was what i needed to support the media keys. but that page looks like its down right now so if someone can point me to a mirror or the right url i would be happy.

rm-x i have tryed, does not detect the keys. same with "global hotkeys" function that comes with winamp5.

but the keys work under wmp for some stupid reason

On the chance it's related, if you have an NVidia graphics card with NView, look at this thread: http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?threadid=196434

Until I installed DrO's nView fixer, none of the keyboard hotkeys would work in Winamp (unless I disabled nView for Winamp).

I might be misunderstanding what you're trying to do though.

i dont use nview at all, its disabled across the board...

and basicly this is my problem:

on this keyboard i have a group of buttons marked out as play/pause, stop, next, previous, and some volume buttons. the volume buttons are ok as they control the general volume in windows. the other ones tho dont work in winamp but they work in wndows media player.

i have searched the network and all fixes either talk about microsoft and logitech keyboards (understandable) or points towards plugins like rm-x.

i have tryed some of them and none so far have registerd the keys. neither have the global hotkeys function in winamp been able to detect them (5.08). but from what i gather, after som rereading, is that there was a plugin located at linas.info that worked for someone with a earlyer version of the keyboard. problem is that linas.info looks like its down with no indication when it will be up so if someone can point me to a mirror for their hotkey plugin then i would be very happy
