Flash XMLConnector and Shoutcast
Has anyone successfully used the XMLConnector component in FlashMX 2004 Pro to grab Shoutcast stats?
If so, how did you do it? I've been screwing around with this for weeks and I can't make it happen. And before you offer up any helpful tutorials, I've seen them all. (Some of those even work when you build their examples.) I'm thinking that Shoutcast has some sort of odd XML output...and I don't know backend Flash. Actionscripting isn't working for me either...I don't get it. Any help is appreciated. |

I don't know about parsing the XML directly from Flash but you could get the stats with PHP and then passing the variables to the swf.

I have the stats in a php file but, being a noob when it comes to backend Flash, I don't know how to get my data into Flash whether it's xml or php.
Actionscripting might as well be sign language to me...I don't speak it. Does anyone have a .fla file that they would share with the rest of us? |

I've tried both Yes and No on CleamXML...no difference.
