2 sound card set-up for Skype + Shoutcast?
Hi everyone,
I am needing some assistance setting up my Skype and Shoutcast. Previously, I had this kind of set-up: Laptop(WinXP + Skype + Shoutcast Server)----->PC(Win2K + Winamp, connecting to Shoutcast Server) This worked, however the voice level of the other person on Skype was very low when listening to the stream on the PC. On the laptop where the conversation was being held, everything sounds fine just like a normal Skype session. Only on the PC end where Winamp was connecting to the stream, the other person sounded very quiet. Today, I bought a 2nd soundcard for my PC, hoping that it was some way possible to have 1 sound card manage the Skype conversation, and then feed it to the other sound card which Shoutcast can use? Would it be as simple as plugging together the "Line Out" of the card doing Skype to the "Line In" of the other card? If anyone has any advice on how to make either the 2 sound card set-up work, or help me tweak the original set-up to adjust the volume of the other person, I would be very appreciative. Thankyou!! |

Hi EazMan,
Thanks very much for your reply. I will gire it a try. However just off the top of my head, I checked the Shoutcast DSP, and there is only one choice for "Soundcard Input". What I mean is I was expecting to see 2 there, and be able to choose the one that the input is feeding to. I will give it a try today! |

yes unfortunatley there is only one option for "soundcard input", it will just broadcast everything over the soundcard.
a solution to this is Simplecast (www.spacialaudio.com) |
