Single Track in Multiple Albums

I've searched the forums for this so I hope it hasn't come up before.

I'd like to be able to have one track in Media Library to be able to appear in multiple albums - for example, in the original album it appeared in and in a best of album. The only way I can do it so far is copying the source file and so adding it twice which is a poor solution.

I don't know if theres a plug-in that already does this (I couldn't find one). If not, I suggest it for future versions.

I think your going to run into a problem with your tags. Simply put, Winamp displays albums based upon what you put into the album title of your tags.

Now you could create some playlists for the two albums, which would allow you to load the song for both albums, but with only one copy of the song. Or, you could put use some creative view, put both album titles in the title field of the tag. Set on view for something along the lines of "if album field containts <name of album>".

Otherwise, I believe you have simply reached a limitation of ID3 tags.
