Problems connecting to server over LAN

Hi

I am trying to set up a shoutcast server to pipe music across my schools LAN (I am the network admin not a student!).

I've followed all the instructions and have a nice server set up, happily sending music out- bytes going up, no strange error messages. And yet I can't get any other computers on my network to connect.

I enter the server's ip and port into winamp but all it does is time out. Pinging it works fine.

I am convinced this is a stupid rookie mistake but can find nothing about it in the faqs or when I search the forum- most people seem to get it working across the network at least- that's all I want to do!

Thanks for your help
