AAC Stream Listing

If this topic has been addressed before, sorry about that. I was just wondering if in the near future will ShoutCast start listing AAC stream. I have noticed that there are a few AAC stations using the ShoutCast Server version 1.9.5, but not listed in the streaming directory for ShoutCast.

There are some AAC+ streams in the SHoutcast YP

Anyone know how stations like Radioparadise.com and Somafm.com are getting there AAC+ streams listed on the Shoutcast directory?

They used to is the keyword. They used cos they used to be using an older version of Opticodec which had the mime-type as:
video/nsa

That has since been updated to:
audio/aac
as well as Orban proposing the mime-type be standardized. Oddcast and AudioCoding.com projects also use audio/aac. I'm not sure about quicktime though... They always seem to be doing thier own thing. hah

I would recommend sticking with audio/aac like everyone else, and you will help put the presure on the non-supporters of this. The real company that benefits by us becoming scattered is evil evil ms.

SHOUTcast.com only lists audio/mp3 and Internet TV only lists video/nsv. It might list more if the SHOUTcast.com update ever happens, which I last heard would be with SHOUTcast 2, so we know when we can expect that.
