Continuous Buffering
Hello Everyone,
Overall, I am pretty good about reading the stickies and searching the forums. I have been searching the forums for a couple of days and have been trying the suggestions, but I am still not able to solve my buffering problems. I'm out of ideas. Here is my video link. http://192.168.1.102:8002/;Intro and What Do You Want From Me.nsv I am broadcasting right now. If anyone is able to test my link, I would really appreciate it. I am testing the link on one of my other computers, but from other posts, I expect that this impacts my download/upload connection/bandwidth. Please let me know if you are buffering on your side. Here are the steps that I have tried. 1. I have tested my video stream by re-encoding all videos at 32 kbps, 64 kbps, 96 kbps, and 128 kbps. result: still buffering. 2. I have adjusted my max listeners to 1, 2, 6, 10 etc. based on the stream calculator. result: still buffering. 3. Today, I contacted my provider and purchased more bandwidth. Although not as much as the rest of the planet e.g I went from 3000/384 to 3000/512 as it relates to download/upload speed. I honestly thought this would solve my buffering problems because I read so many posts that said that it is possible that I did not have enough bandwidth to support the encode and/or the max users. Based on those posts, I purchased more bandwidth, reduced my encode rate, and reduced my max listeners. result: still buffering. 4. On the listener side e.g. using 2 different computers, I adjusted the Winamp buffering settings as it relates to the streaming prebuffering slider, the file buffering size, etc. result: still buffering. Also, when I look in the Shoutcast server, I am receiving many hits, so I know that others can view the video. I am just not sure if they are closing their connections really quickly because of excess buffering. Please provide guidance. I am honestly out of ideas. Also, please let me know if you are experiencing the excess buffering. Also, one other question. I would like to place a link to my video stream on my website, but it does not work. I have checked the format. When you click on the link, it opens saying that this link needs Winamp. Has anyone heard of a workaround. My website is www.markanash.com. Also, during the video testing, I did kill the server for my internet radio station/shoutcast. Thanks in advance. Mark |
