linux ./sc_serv problems starting
I have looked into some other posts on loading and starting sc_serv on a linux webserver. setting permission worked fine but when i type the start cmd ./sc_serv the server responds with: "500?"
Unfortunately I don't have really any background on linux commands. can someone help? I am using an FTP connection to enter cmd: ./sc_serv 500 ? |

you should do this :
chmod 755 sc_serv - giving permisions ./sc_serv - run server in normaln mode. ./sc_serv & - run server in quite mode. ctrl+c - kill server in normal mode kill -TERM - killing server in quite mode |

but when i type ./sc_serv or ./sc_serv & and it still replies with "500?" any idea what that means? FlashFXP v3.0 build 1038 [BETA RELEASE] [R] chmod 755 sc_serv [R] 200 Permissions changed on sc_serv [R] ./sc_serv [R] 500 ? [R] ./sc_serv & [R] 500 ? |

You need SSH shell access to start it. You cannot issue FTP commands to do so, lol.
The 500 error means the FTP server is saying, "WTF" BB 192k Mp3 HIGH DEFINITION | BB 24k Mp3 | BB 20k WMA | BB Community __________________________ My Host - Fast-Serv.com | Free Shoutcast Hosting - Coming Soon... |

ya, you need to make sure the file actually exists. Why is it called sc_serv.tar.tar?
Should be sc_serv.tar.gz -Jay | Radio Toolbox.com |
