i think there should be an option on winamp so it goes into basic mode. i mean basically all it does is VERY EFFICIENTLY play mp3 music... so instead of taking up %7 resources and like %25 processor power, it wouldnt hardly strain the computer at all...
this would be AWESOME for playing games while listening to mp3 music.... what do you think? |

I dont think Winamp takes that much CPU / Memory at all, last time I checked it was like 2% CPU minimized, which is not too bad. What else scould you eliminate?

That's not very good possible.
Decoding MP3s takes a bit CPU-Time, if you want or not. Switching to basic mode would mean then to disable all plugins (general, vis and DSP at the same time) which you an do yourself by not selecting them. Only general plugins are to be switched off then. Digi |
