skipping
Ive been broadcasting for about a month and just today my listeners are telling me it is skipping. Some say its at the beginning of a song and some say whenever. Can someone tell me what can cause this problem all of a sudden? My station broadcasts using another websites servers as part as a agreement I have with them. I know I have enough room to broadcast over 900 slots but my average listeners is never more then 50

900 slots is a HECK of a lot of bandwidth, even for a low quality stream. You sure you're doing your calculations right? Also, if your stream quality is too high for the connection to which your listeners are connecting, then they'll get skipping (actually called buffering).

hmm, yea I run my radio station through another large website which has over 180,000 members and they have about 8 stations listed. They have their own servers and I know they have the bandwith. I had a listener select the 24 rate instead of the 128 and they still heard skipping even though they were on DSL. Maybe theres just a problem with the servers today
