winamp/musicmatch freezing/locking

using winamp v. 5.08e, shoutcast 1.9.5 and dsp 1.8.2b, streaming shoutcast server radio for 2 days now. suddenly today winamp will not play tracks. flashes for a second like it wants to, but meter just stays at zero.

tried to play tracks in musicmatch as well, and same problem. have never had this prob before. system is clean, disk scan, no trojans, adaware, spybot, hijackthis all clean.

have spent 1 hour reading all posts regarding bugs, setting all proper outputs etc in winamp, computer tweaks...i'm already set up. this is different. still plenty of ram.

any others have this problem? it's frustrating. i need audio apps!!! especially winamp now that i'm broadcasting.

i have not done a re-install. seems like that's not the issue.

delta 2496 card. great card. asio drivers. as i said, was all working beautifully till today.

Have you tried closing Windows and rebooting the computer? Try updating the drivers for your soundcard. Also make sure DirectX is up to date for your system.

Because the issue is not specifically related to Winamp and therefore may be system related, there is only so much that we can tell you. Good luck.

Please do not PM me for tech support. Any request for tech support through PM will be ignored.

updated direct x and i already have latest soundcard driver. no viruses. removed real player and music match from my computer. figured that can only help, right?

re-installed winamp and dsp plug-in. plays on first try excellent. connects to shoutcast server, etc. but when stopping play, locks, will not play. freezes other parts of system, like control panel. have to manually re-boot.

it's not a system problem, it's related to the connection of winamp and the dsp, because after uninstalling dsp plug-in, winamp works great!!

the problem as i see it is that i need that d@mn dsp to stream to radio.

when i first used this 3 days ago, it was great. i've made no changes to computer, it just got weird yesterday and continues to be.

just disabled windows firewall, winamp still locked/frozen.

if you could help me that would be great. it was so much fun to start using this...

In that case, I am going to move your thread to SHOUTcast Tech support. The experts there can give better help with SHOUTcast DSP issues. Good Luck

If a SHOUTcast Mod thinks this should go back to Winamp Tech, please feel free
