i have been using winamp for ages now and have only ever needed to upgrade, but last night i had to uninstall it then install again.
Little did i know my high quality selection
of 24 skins were going to be deleted, not even a reminder to tell me so.
I cannot begin to tell you all how disappointed and annoyed i was when i reinstalled and the skins were not there,
this is something that can easily be undone
i dont think anyone would be at any disadvantage, and perhaps a few people, like me, might even benifit

You probably could have just re-installed winamp without un-installing it altogether... Also, the golden rule is always backup everything from a program before un-installing!!

Software must make our lives easier. Software should be fools proof. I'm a fool, I don't want to think, I want software think for me.
Most of the software going around there uses to consider data files as untouchable, so when you uninstall it your data files will remain. In the case of Winamp, skins should be considered as "data", as well as play lists, plug-ins or mp3 files.
