Hey all. I think Winamp could use a little more file support. It's great that it plays almost ALL music files, but how about movies, and streaming media (i.e. RealAudio). There are some plugins to allow more file support (RealAudio, MPEG, AVI, etc.), but they're not great and you still need other players. How about making it like Microsoft's awesome (But no rival to Winamp
) Windows Media Player, which plays lots of music and video files. Maybe even build in RealAudio/RealVideo support, making Winamp the only player (Other than RealPlayer) to support RealMedia. Also, I think Nullsoft should build in (Or make seperately) a MP3 encoder. Although there are many of these on the market, you either have to pay for them, or they aren't very good. I want a good, free, and compatible MP3 encoder, so how about you (Nullsoft) build it into a good, free, compatible music player (Winamp)? - Cybrio PS - Check out www.TheHungerSite.com and www.TheRainforestSite.com .

Cybrio,
Check out the Windac site at www.windac.de. It's a terrific ripper and MP3 encoder. Small cost to register ($20 US) but it's really fast, and with free available DLL plugins you can get get any level of quality you will ever need. Putting the songs in a Winamp playlist is then a cinch. |

I'd love to see an mp3 ripper built right in. There's other programs but its just not as convienant. And while there at is some sort of mp3 editor like COOLedit. Maybe they could make it a second program. And real audio and windows media support will probably never happen... lots of legal issues.
