Adobe Illustrator

I'm looking for tutorials on how to go about making vector images.
I guess the first question is: Illustrator is the right program I'd want to use to go about it right?

And I know you guys probably know of a whole bunch of tuts on how to do this, could ya'll please share some of the best links?

Adobe Illustrator is rather popular among vector artists and its what I use for my vector art. I've also seen some people do some awesome vector work in programs like Macromedia Freehand/Flash and Corel Draw.
