Solo Guitar
Hey does anyone here konw of any solo guitar albums (either acoustic or elctric, doesn't matter) that are good? I know of some solo distorted/electric music and I'd love to hear some more of both electric and acoustic. It's ok if it's solo with singing too, like Jason Becker type stuff. Thanks a bunch.

...you probably already have, but...
Have you tried any Steve Vai or Joe Satriani? Here's a few.
You're a guitarist right? So you've probably got all of Jimi Hendrix's records? If not, why not? "Electric Ladyland" is a masterpiece. Frank Zappa: "Overnite Sensation" is LOVELY and a good entry point into the massive output of Zappa. "Apostrophe", "Hot Rats", "Shut Up n Play Your Guitar" and "Joe's Garage" are the next port of call. Jeff Beck: "Blow by Blow" and "Jeff Beck's Guitar Shop" For a more jazzy flavor... Django Reinhardt: "Djangology" John McLaughlin & Mahavishnu Orchestra: "The Inner Mounting Flame" Al Di Meola: "Elegant Gypsy" -- Anything by these artists is basically pucker shit. |
