Football (soccer) players are the biggest bunch of pansies in Sports
so I was watching a football (soccer) game the other day, and this guy for no reasn all of a sudden just drops to the ground and starts roling around whining like a 6 year old girl who got stung by a bee. What happend? Another players foot grazed his shin. What a bunch of pussies. That is why american's don't watch soccer, we don't want to watch grown men roll around and cry on the ground for 90 minutes.
bah! |

He was trying to draw a foul. The more dramatic, the less likely it was a big foul.
I hate when players do that. When I refereed, I'd tell them that they wouldn't get an Oscar, but a card. |

the player was doing a Mattheus , named after Lothar Mattheus a german soccer player that was more famous for falling than for his skills as a soccer player.
touching him with a finger would make him fall down to the ground like someone just fired a bullet at him. needless to say that he wasn't very popular on the soccer fields. |

I disagree with you completely. There are always exceptions (ie what you saw) but the majority of players dont take dives. Soccer is definitely a contact sport. I think I was watching an EPL game a couple days ago, a dude got a huge cut on his forehead, blood all over his face, yadda, yadda, yadda... taped him up, cleaned the blood off and he played the rest of the game. I am a keeper and you have to be retarded...err gutsy in order to be good. From being kicked in the head by balls to peoples cleats, any kind of hand damage you can think of, bloody noses, lips, knee injuries, scabs that never heal, etc..... just part of the game(dont worry I get my revenge at times too ). Hell I even have been shoved into a goal post-- moving the goal back 3 feet. Only after the game did I realize my shinguard was cracked and I needed stiches in my leg.Add to everything the fact that soccer players have to be able to run for 90 minutes straight, i dont see how you can call soccer players pansies. Also I think that in order to be a good athlete at any sport, it is kinda mandatory that you cant be scared or a wuss, but thats just me. Have respect for all sports, even ones you dont like. The real question is if cheerleasding is a sport.... lol jk, I personally think it is as those are some damn talented girls (and guys). |

American football is no better, to be honest. Ice hockey and rugby are where it's at.

Christ, NFL players are so weak that they only play half of the game. I agree about the divers though, but it's maily the continental tosh like Christiano Ronaldo that do it. Guys like Rooney just get up and bat them. |

What, do you want the QB to play defense?

Guys in the NFL only play half of a game because the level of play is so high it nessecitates it. If you were allowed unlimited subs in soccer, and you could always have fresh players on the field and the level of play would increase also.
My perspective is that every sport has it's pansy players, and different ways of being pansies. How many times do you see punt returners run out of bounds in th NFL? elevatorladyelevatorladyelevatorladyelevatorladyelevatorladylevitateme |

At least in soccer, we dont have time out every two seconds.
Football is a contact sport (my knees will attest to that), but it is probably the easiest contact sport to feign in, especially true of non British players. |

I also played keeper (goalie) and I got my fair share of bloody noses, black eyes, etc. I was a mean goalie too, the rules in the youth leauge obviously are skewed to protect the goalie, and I used them like a cheap whore. I dove at everything. I took so many kids legs out by diving at the all ![]() Anyways, I am just saying, it gets anoying watching these guys pull a Matheous. and I wish rugby were shown here in the US Or even cricket (a game which I have NEVER seen played)

![]() [Nolan] Ryan took a ground ball on a high bounce from Bo Jackson. He picked up the ball, threw Jackson out, finished the inning, took stitches, and returned to the game. |

Ever think about how Nolan Ryan had multiple no hitters, but he couldn't throw one for the Mets??? Damnit. We're cursed.

But, I'd go to a game just to see the drunk section ![]() p.s. Nolan Ryan kicks ass! Watched a clip ages ago, where he accidently clipped a batter, batter was a rookie who didn't understand that if Nolan was gonna hit you, it wouldn't have just been a clipping. Batter charges the mound, Nolan stands there waiting for him and then just decks him. |
