School Project

We're doing an assignement in school, and I was wondering if someone could help me. I need to:
"Find a song that chronicles the life of a person", so I was wondering if anyone could think of any good songs like that.

Thanks.

You have to give us some info on yourself first. I'm sure the gang here will be happy to throw out some suggestions.

It doens't have to have anything to do with me, just a person in general, it doesn't even have to be a person who actually even exists.

Ahh... gotcha. First to come to mind is Billy Joel's "We didn't start the fire". It does chronical his life by events that happened during it: http://www.teacheroz.com/fire.htm

You could even go with "Waltzing Matilda" by Banjo Patterson. You know, Australia's national anthem

Check out Velvet Underground - The Gift,

Not so much a life story, but a snipped of a life story, tells the story of Waldo Jeffers and his unrequited love for Marsha and how ultimately it leads to his downfall, it's told pretty much as a spoken word thing, you can check out the lyrics here..

The guy who wrote the song is of course Lou Reed and it's kind of about Lou himself and the frame of mind he was in at the time, so it's a double edged story.

Very good, check it out

I can probably give you a load more when I get my brain in gear. But for now, these come to mind...

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds with Kylie Minogue: "Where The Wild Roses Grow"

The Who: "The Real Me" from "Quadrophenia" and "Pinball Wizard" from "Tommy". Any songs from these two albums probably fit the bill.
