Yep, it's like a movie that I play on my web. "They came from beyond space". The lead in the movie has a silver plate in his head that keeps the aliens from abducting his brain. Of course he has to make a silver salad bowl for his india friend.

But, I don't know why Winamp would dial anything, except maybe to retrieve the shoutcast listings.

When you have cybersex, make sure you wear your cyberrubber :-).

And go with Renolds tinfoil, They can get their waves though the store brand tin-foil.

Winamp > Prefs (Ctrl+P) > Media Library > Online Media tab:
Modify Preferences button > Uncheck "Look for new Online Media Channels on exit"

Did you check the "send anonymous usage stats" thing when you installed it?

Your first premise is wrong so your theory is flawed.

can you answer me this now.

what makes it take up to 30 seconds to load winamp? every time i click on it to start a playlist it locks the computer until about 30 seconds and then plays the list and lets me use computer again ?

never mind i think i found the answer to it? which is winamp is loading the media libray on load up. so i will need to stop that right?

So, see, Nullsoft is not a bunch of spammers.

I knew that.

I have often found their policies to be quite martial about that sort of thing.

I'd have to give these guys a white hat.

Winamp is absolutely harmless.

Where you go might be a different matter.
