NAT forwarding issue with chained routers
Hello,
I'm new to Shoutcast and have extensively searched the boards for an answer first and I've checked out www.portforwarding.com as well - so, here's my predicament: I have a DSL modem/router: Actiontec r1524su I also have a wireless router: D-Link DI624 The D-Link in chained to the Actiontec enabling me to have a wireless connection to my laptop. My question is that I'm unsure how to set up port forwarding on both routers. In able to make them work together, the Actiontec is set to 196.168.0.1 while the D-Link is set to 196.168.1.1 I've set up a static ip on my computer: IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.200 Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1 DNS Servers . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1 192.168.1.2 I did this after reading the docs @ portforward.com... I've limited the dhcp on the d-link to 192.168.1.100-199 I've set up portforwarding for 8000 & 8001 on the d-link for 192.168.1.200 The problem comes with the Actiontec...I can't forward for 192.168.1.200 because I keep getting a message saying that the subnet masks must be the same: 192.168.0.xxx Here's the settings on each router: Actiontec r1524su WAN IP Address: 65.100.35.248 Subnet Mask: 255.0.0.0 Gateway: 207.225.84.194 DNS #1: 205.171.3.65 DNS #2: 205.171.2.65 LAN IP Address: 192.168.0.1 Net Mask: 255.255.255.0 D-Link DI624 WAN IP Address 192.168.0.3 Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway 192.168.0.1 DNS 205.171.3.65 205.171.2.65 LAN IP Address 192.168.1.1 Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0 Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks! |
