Parents fined for urinating baby

Quote:
NEW DELHI (Reuters) - An Indian temple fined the parents of a baby that urinated on its mother while she was praying, but the government ordered the money returned, saying the penalty was unfair.

Officials at the Thrissur Hindu temple in the coastal state of Kerala fined the six-month-old's parents 2,000 rupees ($45) -- a hefty sum for an Indian working family -- saying the baby had desecrated the temple, the Times of India reported.

Priests also held special prayer ceremonies to cleanse the temple after the incident.

When the father, a mechanic, said he did not have the money, other worshippers chipped in to pay the fine for him.

But the father appealed to the government, which told the temple to give the money back because a baby could not be expected to control its bladder.

Oh noes! Your baby just desacrated our holy temple! It is now unclean and cannot function as a house of worship any more for the rest of eternity!

Grow the hell up.

Then why are there restrooms in Christian/Catholic churches?

I was making reference to the nonsense people make out of religious beliefs..

Religion can be one of the most useful and rewarding part of any culture.. but too many people turn it into something it shouldn't be.

and in third world countries everyone pisses in the streets because there are no toilets?

I become more and more apathetic to the idea of "religion" every day.

How would I know? I'm just stereotyping...

LMAO!

I thought of the same thing. That title is really off base.

IT should have been, "Parents fined for baby's accident in temple." OR "Parents fined for baby's urination.".
