text streaming

We would like to be able to insert an RSS stream into the Current Song information of our live stream. We currently stream directly from our Community radio station. How can we take the last post in our blog and scroll it in the current song information of our listeners winamp clients?

thank you for any information.

If you are handy with PHP code, you can get a script from the shoutcast toolbox to display the last X listeners on your site.

Use that as your starting point for your RSS feed.

1 problem, a lot of users will get sick of there RSS software dinging every 4 minutes when the song changes. Or they go to bed and wake up and find 200-300 new entries in there RSS software from your feed.

Also known as RSSPAM

Right now, we are not able to change the name of the current song. Our stream goes direct from our shoutcast box and there is no way that I can see to change the text of the current song.

The current song and playlist information will be streaming into the shoutcast stream from the dj directly to the audience.

I only stated that I am using RSS because it is the most convenient way to always get the information from my source. The DJ's all input the song information directly to their blog. I would like to use this information as the RSS source.

So actually, I think that you have my intentions backwards. I want to send RSS into the winamp stream, not from winamp into RSS.

I hope that this clarifies things.

thanks again.
