Well, that's good. This all seems very cryptic however... could you perhaps explain the reason for your post? If something isn't working, or you're seeing errors for example, that would be useful.

Or did you just post to tell us that you've installed shoutcast and it works?

No sorry i didn't give enough information!
Ok, It wont let me connect even though its set up correctly, I have looked all over the internet trying to find help!
i cant even stream through a network!

Okay - so you are using Winamp with the shoutcast plugin?

In the plugin, if it's on the same PC as the shoutcast server, you need to go to the "output" tab and click the "connection" button. In there, you would set the IP to 127.0.0.1, port 8001, password, and encoder.

Then play an mp3 file - the DSP won't connect unless a song is playing. After that, check your logfile again and see if you notice a change.

when i click the connect button it just disconects after a few seconds?

It really sounds like the DSP isn't aimed at the right IP or Port for the shoutcast server. You see no additional info in the logfile when compared to your first post?

If you don't see a connection attempt in that logfile, then your DSP IP or Port is wrong. shoutcast and winamp are on the same PC, yes?

I really think i have set this up wrong!
I will say i have a router which this computer conectds too!

yes but its not connecting at all my friend..have you set up the encoders correctly??

yer i am sure it only gives me one choice for the type which is mp3 and the other is set at mono

Router will become a factor in making your stream public, but not in connecting the DSP to shoutcast.
