Iron Maiden - The Rime of the Ancient Mariner
Nice 14-minute metal epic based on the Samuel Taylor Coleridge poem of the same name...I wanna read the poem now after listening to this song...
"I just want to lie in my own crusty filth, eating rancid egg sandwiches, until some unfortunate paramedic has to blow down my door to find my bloated and pasty corpse wedged between the nightstand and mattress stained with Bengay and Robitussin DM." - Greg Gutfeld on sex and seniors "Syphilis does not stay in Vegas. Debt collectors do not stay in Vegas. Dead hookers stay in Vegas, but the guilt stays with you forever." - Bill Schultz |

Tool - {2001} Lateralus - "Reflection" (11:07).
![]() A three part epic consisting of tracks:
The three remain in their own theme, full of atmosphere and creativity. Percussively it's amazing, drummer Danny Carey always seems to amaze me, lyrically beautiful and extremely calming, musically from Adam Jones and Justin Chancellor (the string players) impressive and very creative, while what they play isn't always extremely technical it's made up by their incredible ability to create wonderful themes. Listen to that movement on Lateralus and you are left with an amazing aura throughout your body for the next week. Infact I'd recommend the whole album. Then we'll move onto; Tool - {1996} Ænima - "Third Eye" (13:47). ![]() Somewhat graphical, heavier tones are used and its theme uses someone's third eye or conciousness to depict our modern society. Dream Theater - Octavarium (24:00)
A great epic that really expressed most of their styles and influences. Marillion - Ocean Cloud (18:00) Marillion - Neverland (12:10) Both from the 2CD set of the album Marbles. I've only just gotten into Marillion, but this is one of my favourite albums of all time. At times it is very dreamy, at times melodic and then there are more rockier parts. These songs finish both discs in the album in an awesome way. |

![]() Cold And Ugly The Grudge Stinkfist [Extended] H Schism Parabol Parabola Third Eye [Intermission] Disposition Reflection Triad Lateralus Quite predictable, actually, considering it was in promotion of Lateralus. I was a bit upset that there was nothing from Undertow, but Third Eye certainly made up for it! Spiral out, my friend. You will find your way back to yourself, we all will. I'll be waiting, and shall see you on the other side... |

2 or 3 bass notes repeated for 12 minutes, still very nourishing I'd say. |

Tension rather than silence.
(Or did you get a corrupt mp3 that actually is silent? )

I have 12:19 of total silence.
But still, an improvement on "Canaveral".
