Changing from One Song to another Smoothly
Yeah, its a dumb question, but has anybody got any advice on how to change songs to another song or to a clip smoothly like one of them professional radios do, if so throw me your tips.... please, I need this nicely done and yeah if its a dumb question, I apologize.
P.S. I thought maybe it'd work between each other via Playlist, unfortunately, it doesn't. |

Not a dumb question. I don't use winamp to stream usually, I have a little app called Atomix where you can mix the tunes into each other.
http://www.atomixmp3.com/ They have a free trial and it's not too expensive compared to other software of this type. |

Ummmmm, okay, looks like good software, but which one do you use to mix songs into each other and also, is there a way it can be saved so that I can use it on SHOUTCast software, nothing against Atomix, just I've learned alot about SHOUTCast and would prefer to use it.
Also, is SAM a whole completely streaming software of its own or does it rely on SHOUTCast to run? |

I know nothing about SAM, I consider it to be lazy peoples software
I've only used Atomix for live on the fly mixing (or clanging as I'm a crap dj) and never been fussed about being listed on the Shoutcast server or that it won't show what song I am playing. Hopefully someone with more experience than me can come along to answer these questions.

sam is automation software allthough i am no sam guru,
it still needs a server to connect to as it does not act as a server just an encoder i think as for mixing live mp3 then i recommend native instruments traktor, worth every penny and have used it for years but it does need a 5.1 card to stream with a monitor, i hope this helps

Hmmmmm, dont have a 5.1 card, and what do you mean by SAM is an automation software?
Lastly, with SAM, how would i go about using it. I mean, i wanna use it, but is it easy and functionable like SHOUTCast?? Actually, is it a whole different streaming system then SHOUTCast or is it relied on SHOUTCast for stuff. One more thing, for the Atomix, how exactly does it work again, and for goodness sake can somebody please point me in the right direction for having a good piece of software that I can use for my radio station? |

SAM Broadcaster
Sam Broadcast may be for lazy people but, SAM works gooder then winamp and the plug-in. SAM Broadcaster has all the build ins of an real radio station and works good with all types of servers.

Can't you just shove them together in a playlist and then use the crossfade that comes with Winamp?
