Question about gen_ yar.dll
I am new to Winamp, so apologize for the simple question, but... I have put this in my plug-in folder and I understand what it is for. Now how do I call it up and use it? Or any other plug-in for that matter?
Thanks. on edit: I've looked further to make gen_yar work with no luck. Found the instruction to: "Pick 'Copy Playlist Files' from the main Winamp/system menu". I can't find any drop down menu that contains the "Copy Playlist Files" command? Last edited by shepard; 30th July 2005 at 06:35. |

You could try this older version of gen_yar:
http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....18#post1684918 With that version the menu entry should show up when you right-click Winamp. The version you have probably puts the entry in the menu that you get when you right-click the Winamp button in the taskbar. You'll have to enable this option to get that button: Prefs (Ctrl+P) > General Preferences > Show Winamp in: Taskbar Still no luck? Try one of the alternatives suggested here: http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....75#post1712175 |

Yes, you were right. The version I have, (downloaded last week), just puts the entry in the menu when you click the task bar icon, not in any of the other menus. I can live with that, now that I know how to get to it. I can't think of any drawbacks to using gen_yar this way. Can you?

Nope. It doesn't really matter, I guess. Although I don't have Winamp set to show up in the task bar myself, so I prefer using the older version
![]() I'm not sure why the entry appears in another menu in the new version... I also don't know if the author of the plugin changed other (internal) things. All options seem to have stayed the same. |
