Broadcasting setup tips and tricks
Can anyone recommend any tips or tricks. I am new to this but have been able to successfully get it all working. Currently I am running the DNAS server and Winamp with the shout cast plugin, also I am using the oddsock song requestor program. Everything works fine and I can broadcast and people can make requests, but I am not sure what else I can do.
I am designing a webpage and would like to have links from that to the broadcast. ANy suggestions tips or trick and where can find how tos will be great. For example why would I want to use a different DSP ( I think thats the term) available from oddsock. OR how can I export info from shoutcast...the xml stuff...where does it need to go ...webserver?. I hope you get my drift. |

Best tip I can give is make sure you have decent equipment. I 'm part of the Weters and Maeds Show and we originally started broadcasting off of Altec Lansing gaming headphones. They really sucked, and everytime the mic kicked in, you could hear the hum.
So we went out, bought two MXL mics, a mixer and a few cables and our broadcast now sounds much, much more professional. |
