How to get permission?
How is the best way to get permission to use a band's song on your radio? Do you email their record company, their manager, or what? Thanks if anybody can help!

You need to find out who holds the copyright for their music. You should be able to do this through their manager/label.

If it's an indie label contact them directly. If it's a major label you can obtain licensing that allows you to play anything you desire (at a cost of course) from Swcast.Net or Loudcity.Com or pay the royalty agencies direct. Most artists don't deal directly with these matters anymore.

be forewarned by those groups, there are limits to how big you can be. They are a good alternative to major royalty groups if you plan to do this as a hobby and stay small though.

If you use SESAC their licenses are cheaper then most of the others and they work with more Artists.
