Very clever, hiding the vis that way....

I would think it'd be ok, as long as you make sure the other windows are done.

However, personal opinion here, for the sake of an additional two buttons I'd add a shuff/rep button.

Could you do something with the volume area as well to at least indicate something is happening, how about making the 'Mini Disc' logo gradually change colour as the volume increases?, filling it from the bottom up with the blue you've used on the other displays would look cool.

Very sexy. But I dont understand your question as to whether it would be published. Is there some sort of standard for minimal skins?

Yes, we usually insist on all the main buttons and sliders to be visible , EQ has to be useable and so on.

We can live with the occasional button missing, Balance for example, but if everything is stripped then it'll probably get bounced, yes people do send skins that are basically a picture with a vis window and songticker stuck on them.

Oh ok. Kewl. You know what? I reckon you guys should let me in on your little vis secret. Aside from the fact that its just plain cool, I could really use it for a skin Im working on atm.

EDIT: Officially feeling stupid. Never mind. I downloaded it from above and looked for myself. Sorry.

moving om,
changed it up a little for the masses
however the files for the minimal stuff will be supplied with the skin,so the more experienced users that dont want all this fancy malarky can just swap it over

In the eq, why not move the slider tracks over to the left by one pixel? Then your buttons would sit in the middle of the track.

I was simply pointing out that your eq buttons might look better if they were centralised on the eq bars.
What have your previous skins got to do with that?

And what the hell was this for? -->

i`m still in the process of shifting some stuff around thats all
i allready knew about te uncentralised eq controls and had all that in order

the reference to the previous skins is that basically i make sure that everything is correct and perfect,
i mean,take the last skin i made,T-952
even the rivets are in-line top and bottom

yes,my skins go through my own quality conrol whch is very strict
so,sorry to get arsy about it
it`s just the way i feel

now i gotta get some blue tack and put up my large GTA san andreas poster

yummy

only thing is it's missing the 7x7 area in gen.bmp (118,72) for when the gen frame is a fixed size (which everyone seems to miss out )

You wont' see it on the skin...

See the little 7x7 black square on there?, ok, run winamp and press J to bring up the jump to file box, see the bottom right corner ?, see how there is a 7x7 hole, that's where the little square fits, If I remember rightly it covers up the resizer area on the frame, so if you have a frame that dosn't resize, like the JTFE one, you don't get a resize graphic on it.

Something like that, it's hardly documented anywhere, it's even wrong in the classic base skin, and I've only recently discovered it myself while updating some classic skins.

That element should simply be dropped in the next version of winamp.

You can just copy a 7x7 square from 112,59 of the same bmp, and you'll be ok.

weird yes but it's done for those wanting to distingush a fixed gen frame from a resizeable and since i use the fixed frame method for jtfe...

hmm, actually thinking about it all now, i think i could possible add in some hacking around to copy the current 7x7 area over to the new area on fixed frames (so i then don't get bug reports about it working on skins which haven't got that 7x7 block)

well,
this skin truly sucks

Weak! The thing that gets me is, you either completely remove (vis, bal, etc.) or severely cripple (vol, text size), and then say that your skin is functional.
Posted by sctts on Monday, August 15th, 2005 at 12:39 AM CEST

Weak! The only standard this skin will set, will be a "sub" stadard one.
