my SHOUTcast levels seem to be all out of wack, whats going on
ok, im just going to explain the problem i am having.
I'm trying to broadcast through "Line-in" source, from 2 turntables and a mixer. The levels work properly, in other programs (recording programs) when my volume is turned up at a reasonable level on my DJ mixer. But the levels on shoutcast seem to be different. When i have the "Line-in" recording control on my computer mixer, turned up at a reasonable level, the SHOUTcast levels are full (all green). Now, as i play music through my turntables with a reasonable volume, the SHOUTcast levels drop down to 0. As i turn the volume back down on my turntable mixer, the SHOUTcast levels start to raise up to full (all green). So technicaly, the levels seem to be backwards.. as i turn the volume up, shoutcast levels get lower. and vise-versa. Ive tried adjusting the "Line-in" recording control on my computer mixer. When i bring it all the way down to 0, the SHOUTcast levels rest at about 52dB. then i play music on my turntables and the levels seem to drop the louder the music is. What is going on here? Please help, willing to pay. Thanks -Tyler |

set the card to stereo mix / wave out or what you hear and that may sort it out for you as it will just pass all the audio at 1 level,
maybe this will help Mrs Squids Using Decks With Shoutcast good luck |

that link did not help, that just tells me how to connect it to my pc. Keep in mind, the levels work fine with other programs, because i record mixes and whatnot.
I dont understand what you mean by "set the card to stereo mix / wave out" how can i set the card to that? This is really frustrating me..someone please help! ******************************** EDIT ******************************** When i change the Input Device to "Winamp (Recommended)", it does the same thing. Levels rest at about 52dB, then i turn on a mp3 file and the levels drop down to an average 12dB |

shoutcast > input tab > open mixers > recording mixer > select stereomix/what u hear/wave out (depending on soundcard)
this should allow you to stream all your pc hears but this will include windows noises and msn so they need to be turned off good luck |

nick@ass, thank you for your help..but nothing seems to fix the problem i have.
I changed it to wav out, as my recordering source. and had a track playing on winamp..levels were very low...at about 2dB, so i turned down the traack on my winamp volume control, and the SHOUTcast levels, start to get higher! my wav out volume on the recording mixer is turned up, so is the main volume on the main volume mixer. Is this some sort of bug? am i the only one who has ever experienced this..? it must be unfixable. |
