!!!!Canadain Licensing News Update!!!!
I have great news for all Canadin broadcaster that need licensing. I have just discussed with SOCAN a few things. I have also found that if you station is just going to broadcast you don't need the CMRRA licensing. the only thing you need is SOCAN unless you are going to manufacture cd's or cassettes with coprighted recordings on them. I also asked them what I can do to broadcast legally and their replay was send them a letter stating that i will accept all fees once a tarrif has been set and mail it to them with a singnature. I unfortunately forgot to ask while I talked to her if the fees would be retroactive and so i am just waiting for that rely and i will let you all know...as for the part about having files on you harddrive and that stuff that is false unless you will be manufacturing cd's/cassettes with the cmrra if not send your letter to Socan and get broadcasting lol
I will get you the adress in my next post which will be soon and the answer to the retroactive stuff. |
