My virus scanner just detected winamp as Backdoor.Win32.Bifrose.D. I know for a fact it cant be a false positive. I get the same thing for limewire. Can someone please tell me this.

Limewire is not clean like it says it is. It comes with webp2p and i really doubt bitdefender will give out false positives. Come on.

Winamp does not contain a virus. But for some reason a few virus scanners tend to give false-positives on NSIS Installers. And there is no such thing as a 100% accurate virus scanner. There will always be false positives.

"i really doubt bitdefender will give out false positives"
Backdoor.win32.bifrose.d There's a reference there to one of the filenames involved being pxwma.dll %System%\pxwma.dll is part of the Sonic Burning/Ripping Engine and is a totally legit file. Therefore, I suggest you report this to the makers of BitDefender asap :/ |
