mp3 pro
Is there any way to transcode a mp3pro stream into a lower quality stream and then broadcast it to a second streamserver?
I know sc_trans can somehow do mp3 but we have an mp3 pro server (traffic reasons *lol*). any ideas? thx eth8505 |

Not sure about that, but couldn't you just encode a lower bitrate MP3pro stream at the source and aim it straight at the second server? I would imagine it might yield better results than re-encoding an existing stream...

Well, thats what we are doing at the moment. But i will explain the "germany-situation" to you
![]() In germany the average person has a connection speed of 1024kbit/sec downstream and 192kbit/sec upstream (typical german ADSL). Now if we are streaming a 92kbit/sec stream to our main stream server we have a problem. Because if we want to surf properly and broadcast the modem stream at the same time we need a faster connection which costs more money ![]() so it would be possible to stream to the second server directly and we are actually doing that at the moment but we want to stop to limit server traffic as well as client traffic. thx eth8505 |

Okay - I understand. You want that second server to have a lower bitrate than the primary?
