He Sufferd

This stupid is trying to get votes on a dutch website that is looking for talented people who sing or are in bands.

Yeah . Dutch's easy to understand in its written form. Understanding it when spoken is a lot harder.

that is not so strange in your case since you speak german.

german and dutch are not that different if you take the basics of the language.

oh and Tucker
"ik gebruik vertalers als het belangrijk is"

that is the correct dutch line you where trying to post.

Oh and Doggy don't brag too much, i'm dutch and can post some text that makes you wonder for years what i wrote.

Heh... my Dutch is limited to the "Willt u zitten ? Ik kan steen !" signs in some old busses here . However, I do speak (well, more "understand" than speak) German, so yeah... whatever.

it's because split is a bit too far to hop on my bike and visit otherwise i would gladly learn you some dutch.

that must be really old busses than , I haven't seen those stickers in public transportation for at least 15 years.

oh small error --- it's " ik kan staan" means i can stand . it was a sticker meant to get younger people to stand up for the elderly.

Steen is the dutch word for brick.

und ich spreche auch ein bischen deutsch, ich kan es lesen und auch schreiben.

Haha. Yes.... my bad. I haven't seen one of those dutch busses in a couple of years myself, but that was just a slip, and I know what they meant. It's hard not to.

Those busses were decrepit, and usually did lines to outlying villages, but sometimes they would also be assigned to a major in-city line, so I noticed those from time to time (I had to travel every day with a bus to my high school for 4 years).

2 questions: Isn't Steen also a name ? and... Steenberge is what, brick hills ? I always thought that word meant stone.

My Deutsch is prolly worse than yours. It's really only 4 years of highschool German + what I picked up from stuff like Inspector Rex . Well, that isn't much, but it's quite far from nothing. I rock at conditionals . It's probably getting rusty now, but, with some practice, I'd probably get by. Heck, I'll prolly need it when I go to WC2006, so I'll probably do some studying on my own. If French and Swedish don't bury me (long story).

If you want to practice German again and have any questions, you can ask me, it's my native language

Thanks for the offer , but what I really need is first person interaction, you can't learn much only by reading and/or lessons.
